Sunlit House is a clean, modern, well-appointed space — exactly as advertised. Travelling with a baby, we really appreciated the cot, high chair, baby dinnerware and baby bath provided. (excerpt)

After a bustling day in Osaka, it was always so nice to come back to the Sunlit House as our little refuge. The design is incredible. Naoto is just as lovely and super responsive. Great location. (excerpt)

The beds were comfortable, the washing machine and dryer were great to have, and the aircon kept the place cool even when it was hot outside. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Osaka! (excerpt)

Frequently asked questions

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 4:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Check-in is self-service with a door code, sent to you the day before arrival.

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes. As a licensed vacation rental under Japan's National Strategic Special Zones Act, stays must be at least 2 nights.

Is the house suitable for small children?

Yes — a baby crib, baby bath, kids' tableware and a high chair are available (let us know about the crib and baby bath at the time of booking and we'll have them set up before check-in). Since you have the whole house, there's no need to worry about neighbors in the next room.

What is the bed setup?

Two double beds in the Western-style bedroom and two futon sets in the tatami room, for up to 6 guests.

Are the futons laid out in advance?

We ask guests to lay out the futons themselves. If you'd like them prepared in advance, message us after booking.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, free fast Wi-Fi. The bedroom also has a dedicated workspace.

Is there parking?

There is no private parking. Please use a nearby coin-operated parking lot if you come by car.

Can I smoke?

The house and its surroundings are entirely non-smoking.

Are pets allowed?

We're sorry, pets are not allowed.

Can we eat or drink on the second floor?

To protect the tatami and woodwork, only water is allowed on the second floor. Please enjoy meals, alcohol and coffee on the first floor.

Can I do laundry?

Yes — a washer and a free indoor dryer are available. Towels are yours to use freely; please wash and dry them yourself as needed.

Are there shops nearby?

A convenience store is a 2-minute walk, a supermarket 6 minutes, and a local onsen (hot spring) just 4 minutes away.

Anything to keep in mind at night?

The house is in a quiet residential area. Please keep voices and music low at night. As the neighbors are private homes, some everyday sounds may carry.

How do I get the key?

Entry is by door code (sent the day before arrival) — no key exchange needed. If a physical key is lost, a replacement fee of JPY 50,000 applies for security reasons.
